Our current research is expanding in two related but distinct directions. Both are based on the sandpile model.
In one of these directions We are experimenting with sandpile simulations on graphs which are not regular grids. In particular, grids with some regularly spaced edges missing are being investigated.
The second direction of our research is to treat the grains of sand as messages in a grid and to investigate the movement of sand according to the transformation rules as an algorithm in gossiping. We call this sandpile gossiping.'
