The similarity between chip firing and sandpiles in graphs is easily recognized in graphs of regular degree such as complete graphs and cycles. Since the degrees of these types of graphs are uniform for all points, the sandpile model and the chip firing game have the same value as a threshold and sand/ chips are conserved.
